'Bob Marley: One Love': Trailer reveals Kingsley Ben-Adir as Jamaican reggae legend

The trailer opens with a young Bob Marley (Ben-Adir) performing at a small club in Jamaica. He is clearly a talented musician, but he is also struggling to make ends meet. 

We see him working odd jobs and living in poverty. However, Marley never gives up on his dream of becoming a successful musician.

Marley becomes a global icon, known for his music and his message of peace and love. 

However, Marley's life is not without its challenges. He is diagnosed with acral lentiginous melanoma, a type of skin cancer. Despite his illness, Marley continues to tour and record music.  

He even performs a historic concert in 1978 at the One Love Peace Concert in Jamaica, which helped to bring an end to a period of political violence in the country. 

Marley died in 1981 at the age of 36. However, his music and legacy live on. He is considered one of the most important and influential musicians of all time. The trailer for Bob Marley: One Love promises to be a moving and inspiring tribute to a true legend.

In addition to Ben-Adir, the film also stars Helen Mirren as Marley's mother Cedella Booker, Naomie Harris as his wife Rita Marley, and Seth Rogen as his manager Danny Sims. 

It is directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, who previously helmed the films King Richard and Monsters and Men. Bob Marley: One Love is scheduled to be released in theaters on January 12, 2024.
